Thank you to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for a brilliant workshop on 19th July. We all enjoyed learning about the ecology and life cycles of bumblebees. The afternoon, spent in the walled garden of Stewart Park, was really great. By the end we all knew how to tell a male red tailed bumblebee from a worker red tailed and a garden bumblebee from a buff tailed bumblebee. A fascinating day that was enjoyed by everyone who attended and there are plenty of plans to put our new skills into practice with bumblebee surveys on green places in Tees Valley.
