The Tees Valley Wild Green Places Project got off to a flying start with a Family road show of events during the February Half term. The five events, funded through Natural England’s winter warmer grant were a great opportunity to get families enjoying the great urban outdoors. 251 people took part through the week. with participants, were encouraged to provide “Bed and Breakfast for the Birds” through a whole range of crafts and activities that will get little creative hands to create rustic feeders and nest boxes. Bird themed treasure hunts and games also got the kids active in the outdoors and learning about their local wildlife. The Friends of Linththorpe Cemetery, Friends of Errington wood, Friends of Rockwell and Friends of Ward Jackson Park all helped to deliver these events.
