31 pupils from North Shore Academy sprung in to action, on a lovely sunny afternoon, to improve their local park for wildlife by planting 100 trees with us. The group enjoyed getting really stuck in and did a great job getting all of the trees planted. We also discussed all the benefits the different types of trees will bring to local birds, bugs and bees. We had a great follow up the week, making bird boxes which will also go up around the site to provide nesting places whilst the trees are still growing up.
