2016 Bioblitz at Summerhill

Summerhill in Hartlepool is hosting our annual bioblitz this year. A Bioblitz is a wildlife recording bonanza. Bio’ means ‘life’ and ‘Blitz’ means ‘to do something quickly and intensively’. Together they make ‘BioBlitz’, a collaborative race against the clock to discover as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible, within a set location, over a defined time period. Our 2015  bioblitz at Maidendale was a great fun, enjoyed by both beginners and wildlife experts, young and old. The results will be logged on the day by the Environmental Records Information Centre who help monitor our valuable local wildlife.  More information to follow.
